Yes, it has been proven safe, non-invasive and effective in the healing process. Laser therapy has been around since 1960, so there are decades of research and evidence available.
Unfortunately, insurance does not cover this therapy. Many use their HSA card. Check your coverage.
Dress comfortably, as the laser can not be used through clothing. For an easily accessible body part, clothing can be moved aside to expose the area that will receive treatment. For areas less accessible, clothing may be moved or removed and a cover provided for you.
Appointments are scheduled at 30 minute intervals, so that session could take 10-30 minutes of therapy, depending upon the area of the body being treated and the level of wattage being used. Some clients choose to do a double session on more than one area of the body, so that session would be scheduled for 60 minutes, with a charge for two areas. See pricing list.
In my experience over the years, I have noted that the majority of people see results after their first session, but typically any noticeable, enduring pain relief may take 4, 6 or even up to 10 or more sessions, depending upon how chronic or severe the condition is. 6-8 sessions are recommended for most healing, and especially for long-term soft tissue injuries. Please note that the body heals at its own rate, and this treatment is not a "one and done" treatment.
Research recommends 2-3 times in the first couple of weeks of treatment. This will initiate a strong healing response to "jumpstart" the healing process. Once we have established your healing pace, we can determine if once of twice a week is needed to continue. For post-surgery, chronic conditions or subsequent to a new injury, twice a week for 2-3 weeks is recommended for reduction of inflammation and pain and to increase circulation. For ongoing maintenance, many choose weekly, bi-monthly or monthly appointments
