My husband, John, and I have lived in this incredible community of Bend, OR for 20 years. After my retirement from well over two decades of teaching in Northern New York State, we retired to Central Oregon to be near our daughter, son-in-law and son, and to be grandparents to our two incredible grandsons. We didn’t miss a moment with them, and they are now grown young men.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to be a part of this active, healthy community and involved with so many people and aspects of living here in Central Oregon. Our entire family loves the outdoors and all the mountains, lakes, forests, deserts and the ocean that Oregon has to offer. I LOVE dogs, as my clients all know, and we have 2 named Huey and Bear. I also love weight training, hiking, water activities, sewing, gardening, cooking and reading.
Having been a runner all my life, I blamed the foot pain that began in my early 60’s on my years of running. My orthopedic surgeon nixed that theory and said it was a hereditary condition of mid-foot arthritis. Little did I know that this very painful journey with both feet would lead me to something that has become a passion in my life which feeds my very soul...PBM, or photobiomodulation/deep tissue laser therapy.
When my foot pain disabled my lifestyle, there was no one in the area lasering, so I had to endure two separate foot surgeries and bone fusions that took months to heal. A couple years following my last surgery, I began having pain again as one of the fusions did not take. It was then I found someone lasering, and to my astonishment, it healed my foot. No more pain! I knew I was destined to learn about PBM and begin a journey of healing!!!
That was the start of something wonderful! I became certified to laser through AIMLA (American Institute of Laser Applications). That certification includes Medical Laser Safety, Scientific Basis of Medical Lasers, General Laser Therapy Principles, and Deep Tissue Laser Therapy for Trigger Points and Fascia. I worked two years for the person who healed me, then started my own business here in Bend, namely, Bend Healing Laser Therapy, LLC, in 2019. Since that time, I have mentored others so that more people can benefit from the healing power of laser therapy.
Healing and helping people feeds my soul, and I am deeply committed to my clients with my knowledge, experience and years of treating them. I know real pain and how disabling it can be, and I know what the laser has done to enhance my life and free me to do all the things I love. Laser therapy is an incredible healing modality. Don't hesitate! Please let me help you begin your healing journey today!
As a Registered Nurse, I am passionate about wellbeing and good health. I first came to Bend 25 years ago, establishing my nursing career in hospital settings at St Charles Bend and Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford. My specialty is critical care (ICU), assisting the most fragile of patients. After retiring from the ICU, I transitioned to community nursing for a variety of non-profit agencies. I also pursued my interest in the benefits of deep tissue laser therapy.
I first discovered the impact of deep tissue laser therapy after a hiking accident left me with a shattered ankle. Thanks to an amazing surgeon, my ankle was rebuilt, but the recovery was long and painful. Physical therapy, nutrition and exercise helped, but progress was slow, and my pain was only being controlled with drugs. I kept researching other supportive modalities. I began to hear and read powerful testimonials to the healing and pain control benefits of non-invasive deep tissue laser therapy. I sought treatment with laser therapist and owner of Bend Healing Laser Therapy, Cathy Bramhall. I noticed a positive effect on my inflammation and pain after the first couple of treatments. Laser therapy became a part of my recovery routine. I firmly believe my healing was faster and better with the regenerative effects of the deep tissue laser. My inflammation was reduced, and consequently my pain was better controlled. Thankfully, I was able to get back to my normal active life, including hiking.
Because of my personal experience and what I learned through research, I wanted to share the benefits of this amazing therapy with others. I sought out and completed the training to become a laser therapist. My studies with AIMLA (American Institute of Medical Laser Applications) earned me certificates in Medical Laser Safety, Scientific Basis of Medical Lasers, General Laser Therapy Principals, and Deep Tissue Laser Therapy for Trigger Points and Fascia. And as with any healing modality, my education will always be ongoing. My excitement and joy at seeing clients experience decreased pain, decreased inflammation, shorter healing times and increased wellbeing through laser therapy continues to grow every day.
I feel fortunate to live here in beautiful Bend. My favorite off-duty pastimes are tending the chickens, hiking our dogs, kayaking, camping, caring for my senior horse and exploring the back roads of Central Oregon on the back of our Harley. And of course, lasering myself and my extended family who all enjoy the healing benefits of deep tissue laser therapy.
